Craver Films Opportunity

Craver Farms painstakingly created several reels of movie film footage of many of the prominent Davenports on their farm during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. These films, shown to guests of Craver Farms for many years, are now getting fragile, and are in danger of being lost. Therefore the Davenport Arabian Horse Conservancy, with the permission of Craver Farms, is announcing a special project to preserve this important piece of Davenport Arabian history.

Help us sponsor a project to preserve these films by converting them to studio quality digital masters. This is the same process used for commercial film projects, and produces video quality similar to the recent High Definition Televisions (HDTV). From these masters, regular DVD videos will be made, and the masters will be retained with hopes of a future HD release(s), and the ability to extract good quality still images of many of the horses. When finished those DVDs will be available for $20.

Right now we're seeking sponsors to help support this project. This is a significant undertaking as the film needs special handling, cleaning, and digitizing just to produce an initial master that can be used for production work. Individual or farm donations of $100 or more toward this project will be recognized on the closing credits of the film footage. (Note that the Davenport Arabian Horse Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations may be tax deductible.) You may also pre-order a copy for $15 of the first DVD release of this video. (Add $1 for international shipping) We hope to release the DVD video by the summer of 2008.
